Welcome Maya Claire

Our friends Jenny and Derrick welcomed their first child into the world on Wednesday night (Jan. 6th). Miss Maya Claire 8 pounds 7 ounces. Jenny was induced that morning and went the whole day battling contractions (she did get an epidural thankfully) only to find out at 9cm dialated that she needed a C-section. It was quite a day but I must tell you I was so impressed with both her and Derrick. She was incredibly calm throughout it all and handeled everything with such grace. I think the highlight of the evening for me, apart from the birth of a healthy baby girl, was watching Derrick with baby Maya. He just could not hold in his tears and it was so obvious that she had him wrapped around her little finger from the first seconds. All I have to say is good luck when she gets older Derrick:) Congrats and love to you both and to your sweet new addition!
