Harvest Walk

Oliver's school had an event this past Friday called Harvest Walk. You would probably be more familiar with the term Walk-a-thon which is pretty much what it was. Of course, the elementary walked around on the football field and the preschoolers around just their little playground. But that didn't seem to matter to them. They were just as proud as any elementary kid of how many laps they ran. The parents were encouraged to stop by so I loaded up my klan and headed over for a few minutes.

The little boy in the blue shirt is Connor. Oliver's closest buddy at school.
After all that hard work they had snack time.
Crosby had a snack also.

Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift came to Phoenix last weekend and Michael looked into buying tickets and came very close to doing so but the three hundred dollar price tag held him bag. We are HUGE T-Swift fans but not three hundred dollars on a Pastor's salary fans. Last Saturday morning Michael posted, jokingly, on Facebook, "Does anyone want to take me and my wife to the Taylor Swift concert?" Not thinking that anyone would actually respond. Well, never underestimate just how much Michael's former students love him because at 4 pm we got a phone call from a girl he used to teach saying she had two extra tickets for the concert, in a box, pretty close to the stage, and wait for it....the were FREE. AMAZING. The concert was AMAZING. I am lame and I only took one picture. But here it is. For her encore song, "Fairytale" she floated around the whole place on this half balcony. Pretty cool.

It's a Wonderful Life

So, as many of you know, last year I directed our church's Christmas Eve production and Michael played the lead. This year is no different. We are doing it again. I think we might be insane. And if I didn't love doing it so much I might really would, in all seriousness, question my level of sanity. This year we are doing, "It's a Wonderful Life." And graciously, Nana and Papa have taken over babysitting duties every Wednesday night so we can be at rehearsals. Here are a few pics they snapped while hanging out with the boys the other night.

Crosby sitting up to the table like a big boy. Cutest boys EVER.
Not only did we have rehearsal last week but on top of that we were filming some narrative scenes from the show one evening also. The Fays have family friends that own a top of the line studio that he graciously allowed us to use for free. And when I say "top of the line" I mean Beyonce did a photo shoot there. So Michael experienced one of his lifelong dreams coming true when, for the night, he became Speilberg shooting with five different cameras with high end equipment under professional lights. He even got to yell, "Action" and "Cut!" It was pretty amazing and the footage looks incredible. Here are a few pictures Steph took that evening.

First Trip to the ER

I am sure that most of my readers already heard about our first trip to the ER but I felt it necessary to document it on the blog. About three or so weeks ago, after everyone had left our house from Bible study, as Michael and I were settling down into our chairs to rest with the kids in bed we heard a VERY loud thud followed directly by a VERY loud scream. Now, I didn't really rush in to the big boys bedroom because, and this probably won't shock you, it is not abnormal to hear these noises come for our two and three year old's bedroom. However, I realized real quick this was no ordinary fall, when I scooped up Wesley and brought him out into the light of the living room to discover blood rushing out in fairly large quantities from his head. Once we calmed him down and got a good look at the gash we realized, with a short i phone face time session with Dr. Nana, we needed to go to the ER. Michael courageously volunteered to take him to the ER and I, more than gladly allowed him this great honor:) Well, bottom line: two staples later, and a good couple of hours in the Emergency room, he survived. I think for most of the event Wesley slept except for a brief moment when he informed Michael and Bill, "I want to go to Costco." Who knows why he thought of that then. But it's a good story.

10 Year High School Reunion

A few weeks ago, during SCA's homecoming, we celebrated our 10 year high school reunion. And since I was vice president and the president is in his residency at a hospital in Oregon the organization fell to me. THANKFULLY, my close girlfriend from high school came to my rescue and we planned it together. Well, in the end I think she planned more than me, she took pity on me. I have found that the whole three kids three and under really wins you some sympathy votes:) Anyways, our turnout wasn't too great but I think those who came had a good time and it was good to catch up. Here are a few photos Marsha took before we left.

Crosby and Cereal

Here is a video of Crosby's first attempt at cereal. I have been trying to incorporate it into his schedule once a day but that is easier said then done considering there is a bit of a competition for my attention these days.

A lunchtime momet

The other day I got the saddest text from my Dad, who has been traveling extra amounts lately. He doesn't like to be gone for long periods and he REALLY misses the boys when he is gone. So when I got this message, "Just wanted to say I miss all of you. A pic of Crosby or Wesley or Oliver would go a long way to making the trip shorter. Home tomorrow night." I had to feel bad for him. So I snapped those in the middle of a hectic lunch.

Crosby, looking bright eyed as usual, watching his brothers
Wesley, saying, "I don't want to." (one of his favorite phrases). He wasn't thrilled with the photo op.
Oliver smiling, like he usually does, with his bottom teeth protruded. We can't get him to just smile like he laughs.

Super Heros

So Oliver's obsession has now switched from Star Wars to Super Heros. And so when I found this Spiderman costume in our costume bin he was thrilled. It did not seem to bother him one bit that it was for a child that is 18 months old. He slipped it on right away. And, as you can see, it fits him through his teeny tiny little waist. Just a little short I would say:) Don't worry he has a better one for Halloween.
