Happy Easter

I wasn't really planning on taking Oliver and Wesley to see the Easter Bunny but we went to the bookstore on Saturday and the pictures were FREE. They generally try and rip you off with these sorts of things so I jumped at the opportunity. They are definitely not wearing their Easter best but it's a cute little picture nonetheless. We had a busy Easter day. I had written some dramatic readings for the services and I was in them also so I was gone all morning doing that. Michael had to film for two services so it was all hands on deck taking care of the kids. Michael did manage to get these pictures of the boys before he brought them to church. Oliver is wearing the little blue suit that was Michael's when he was young. All I have to say is, these photos are priceless:)

Summer is Coming!!!

Since it has been hitting the 90's lately, much to my 34 week preggo body's dislike, we have been having fun playing with water. Oliver especially likes the hose and he usually pretends that the sprayer is a gun of some sort so when we bought one that he could easily operate he found he idea of spraying or shooting his dad with the hose very exciting:) Here is a short little video!

Our Little Boy is Back!

As many of you know, the last two months have been rough for our little man. He got an double ear infection back at the end of February and hasn't been able to shake it since then. We have been to the doctor's office more than I would like to talk about, been through oral anti-biotics, anti-biotic shots, sleepless nights, and fevers. We finally saw a ENT a week ago Monday and discovered his hears were full of fluid (the fluid refused to drain properly which caused the on going ear infection) and that he needed tubes. The tubes (a VERY common surgery to solve chronic ear problems) went in last Friday and the procedure was a success. We had to put him under for the very quick surgery which is always a little nerve wracking, more for us than for him, but he came through just fine:) Within a few hours of his surgery he was totally back to normal and the sweet and energetic kid that I knew to be mine was back!!
I think the most traumatic part for him was the little hospital gown they wanted us to put him in. As soon as we got it on him he screamed until we removed it. It proved to me once again, he is ALL boy. It's as if he was saying, 'I'm not going to wear that ridiculous gown, dresses are for girls, are you kidding me?"
Here is a picture of him at our kitchen sink. He LOVES to skittle in the water and wash my dishes for me, which I don't mind at all.

Disneyland 2011

For spring break 2011 we planned a trip to Disneyland. Michael and I had so much fun taking Oliver last summer we've been scheming ever since we got back about how we could take another trip. We knew this time we wanted to bring Wesley and with me being 30 weeks pregnant we knew we needed help. We also wanted our family to see just how fun it is to see Disneyland through "Oliver's eyes."
It was an incredibly fun trip as well as being totally exhausting. Oliver loved every minute of it. Unfortunately, the night before we left we I took Wesley to the doctor because he was running a temperature. We realized his ears were infected which he ended up battling on and off the whole week. When he wasn't feeling sick he too had a lot of fun. He especially liked meeting the characters and, not to anyone's surprise, any ride that had anything to do with cars and trains. As you will see there are a lot of pictures of Oliver. Michael and Oliver were pretty much glued at the hip this trip. He really just wanted his Daddy most of the time. And Michael, as usual, carried the camera which is a good thing because no one wants to see the pictures I would have taken (let's just say photography is not my gift). Wesley, on the other hand, stuck pretty close to me considering he wasn't feeling good for a lot of the trip.

A group shot (thanks Marsha for organizing this:)

It's a Small World.

Oliver and the Mad Hatter
Oliver and Peter Pan. Apparently he told Peter that he liked Captain Hook better than him because, "he is a better fighter." All boy.

Oli Mo and Alice
Tom Sawyer Island

This is where Oliver spent a good portion of the trip. On his Daddy's shoulders.

We brought his head phones. Just in case the rides were too loud. The only break down during a ride on our last trip came during the Nemo ride when the volume was just to high. We knew better this time:)
One of his happy moments. He loved the merry-go-round.

One of his not so good moments. Poor little man.
Donald!!

This time we had to take the opportunity to watch the jedi show. Oliver still wasn't so sure about actually volunteering as a padawan in training but he charmed the crowd with his "using the force" on Darth Maul.

This might have been one of my favorite moments. They held hands while walking in Downtown Disney. So stinkin' cute!

The lollypops provided great entertainment and great tools for bribery:)

Mommy's favorite ride as a little girl- the tea cups.

Okay, yes, I look like I am in labor here. No I am not. Still have 10 weeks to go.

Wesley would have been more excited but he was running a fever here.

The one ride that Wesley did LOVE. He could drive the steering wheel all by himself.
We had breakfast with the characters one morning. The boys thought it was awesome even if they were the "B" listers.

He got really into Pirates on this trip so it only made sense to get his face painted! "Argh. Shiver me timbers." Was one of his favorite lines!
