Hockey Gloves

My mom and dad were up in Canada and got home just over a week ago. They spent the day with me last Saturday because Michael was out of town and my Dad showed up in the morning with two hockey nets and some hockey sticks for Oliver. Was I suprised? No. He, not so subtly, is trying to make sure that Oliver has an appreciation for the great Canadian sport of hockey. And yes it is a Canadian sport no matter what any American might say to that. And I will confess I got a little emotional when Canada won the gold in Vancouver. Needless to say, hockey belongs to Canada. AND Oliver was very excited to get Shane's hockey gloves that have been passed down to him. He also got some books from his big boy cousins up north which he also loves. So here is a video thank you message to the ever so cool, in his eyes, Mitchell, Jake, and Shane.

Nine Months

Who can believe that Wesley is nine months and will be a year in June. I surely can't. I took him into the doctor for his check-up and we found out he weighs 19 lbs (35th percentile) and has grown a ton in the last 3 months and is now 29.5 inches (85th percentile). He is moving more and more everyday. Just today he was able to move his hands once and his legs once while in the crawling position. He is REALLY close to being able to crawl all over the house. And he is loving standing anytime anyone is willing to hold him up. He also has made a few attempts at pulling himself up. He can clap his hands and is starting to be able to wave every once and a while. And, MOST importantly he says, "Ma ma ma:)" Here he is playing at Desert Ridge this past week.

Marcie and Micah's Shower

I started thinking about it today and in the last year there have been 6 babies born amongst the women in our Tuesday night bible study and when Marcie delivers Micah it will be 7. Lookout is what I say to anyone who is considering joining! There really does seem to be something in the water at Coffee Plantation where we meet:) Here are a few photos from her shower!

New Haircut

I feel totally behind in blogging. It's only been a week and a half but I feel like I have lot's of catching up to do. Just over a week ago we took Oliver to his second official haircut and this time there were no tears! A victory I would say. We decided to have her take a good amount off. It is starting to warm up and it will only get hotter. Plus washing long hair was turning into a nightmare. Here is a pic of his super cool fowahk.
I am going to take this opportunity to share something Oliver said today that melted my heart. We were driving home from church this morning when I asked Oliver what he learned in his Sunday school class to which he replied, "Jesus." We asked, "What about Jesus?" He said, "Talked to Jesus." We asked, "What did He say?" he said, "Jesus loves me." SO CUTE!

The Fay Brothers Drum Show

May I present to you the Fay brothers on drums....

Phoenix Children's Museum

This past Tuesday I took the boys to the Phoenix Children's museum for the first time and met up with a girlfriend of mine from high school Mikel Ann and her little boy Donavan. The museum is really neat and full of rooms for the kids to play in. They had a blast. Here are a few photos from the day.

Donovan and Oliver
Even Wesley found some stuff for himself to play with

Thank goodness for my double stroller!
A room full of golf balls and different ramps to put them down.

Below is a video from the day. At lunch Oliver was jumping around and yelling things at Wesley which he thought was totally hilarious. I love to watch the two of them laugh together. It is just the sweetest thing:)

Happy Birthday Nana

We got together last night to celebrate Nana's and Uncle Meece's birthdays. We hosted the party and Steph did all of the cooking in the hope that we might be able to keep the woman who usually plans, cleans, hosts, and cooks for most events from doing any of the above. And I think we were mostly successful! Here are a few shots from the night.

Oliver "helping" blow out the candles.
Any resemblance? Just a little:)

Tantrums and Camels

I am not exactly sure why but for whatever reason this last week or so has brought an increased amount of tantrum throwing in our house. And I can really only take credit for one of those which me, and everyone else in America, threw when Jake picked Vienna last night. But the other roll on the ground, screaming, banging the head on the ground belong to none other than the two year old residing here. Perhaps it's because I have decided to say no more often with the hopes of teaching him that the world doesn't actually revolve around him 100 percent of the time, just most of it. Or maybe it's because we are now in the heart of his second year of life. Who knows. However, I am beginning to wonder if maybe God has some good timing because while his tantrums do drive me crazy and from time to time cause some level of embarasment Oliver somehow makes up for it all with the seriously hilarious and utterly adorable things that come out of his mouth. For example, he has taken to saying the little phrase, "That's a good idea." So today when I said to him if you sit on my lap and let me put your shoes on we will get a donut on the way to the museum he said, "Oh yes, that's a good idea." And later when I was reading him his daily dose of Scripture:) (we were reading the story about Abram and how he rides a camel, leaves his home, and goes where God asks). He said, "I want a camel. Mommy buy one?" And all I could do was laugh out loud and say that there would probably no camel buying today to which he responded, "Maybe, Oliver rides a horse later?" He's lucky he is so dang cute and entertaining.
Here he is wearing the headphones Michael purchased for him to wear at the Suns games to block out noise. He went the other night with Daddy and Papa and though the noise didn't bother him he did seem to take a special notice of the dancers. When they ran off the court he asked Michael, "Where did the dancers go?"

Strike a Pose

Our little man is going to be nine months and in a few days and we really can't believe it. Where does the time go? As a kid you hear that phrase, "Oh how time flies" from pretty much every adult in your life and you think sure it does. Right. But now that I guess I am an adult (I suppose being a wife and mother of two makes you one) I hear myself say the phrase to friends and family all the time. Wesley is growing into such a sweet little boy and he is just so dang cute. Michael got the camera out the other day and as soon as he saw it he started to pose and flash his million dollar one-toothed smile. Perhaps he will model someday.

He also really enjoys doing anything his brother can. He LOVES the drum set and went crazy the other day when Papa G sat him on the stool and let him "jam" all by himself!
