FIRST Day of School!

I knew once Oliver turned three it was going to be more than time for him to start some kind of preschool. As much as he loves playing at home with his brother and mother I knew he would LOVE being around other kids. And since Michael talks about school and the kids he teaches when we mentioned to him he was going to start school he was VERY excited. In fact for the last few weeks he has been telling us about the "kids" (imaginary friends) at his school (even thought he hadn't until today actually started). One name that seems to come up a lot is Jewy (sp?). Apparently he and Jewy go to school together and have all sorts of experiences that he then fills us in on. Got to love his very robust imagination:) Anyways he cracks us up.
So today when it was time to go he was pretty much ready. I checked him in and walked him to his class. We met his teachers and when one of them said, "Okay do you want to say bye to mommy." He came over gave me a kiss said bye and went and VERY casually sat down on the carpet with the other kids. Like he had done this school thing his whole life. I was proud to make it to the van before I shed a few little tears. He is growing up so fast.
When I picked him up today the teacher told me he had done very well. And on the way to the van he said, "That was so fun." He was especially proud of the penguin sticker he had received and displayed on his hand. Overall I think it was a big success!
