Merry Christmas
Not sure we are going to get to a Christmas card this year so in case we don't (and I am realizing now it is already December 20th) Here is the picture we would have used for our card. Merry Christmas everyone. We love you!
Oliver LeBron Fay
Oliver spends many an hour putting his basketball in the hoop. And if he happens to be somewhere where there is not a hoop he is sure to figure something out. For example, I had to take him to get his blood drawn for some routine tests that the pediatrician needs to run for his 1 year check up. And don't worry he survived and it, to my surprise, wasn't that bad. We were playing in the the waiting room before we got called back and there was a nice lady sitting on a motorized cart. I had brought one of his basketballs and he proceeded to put the ball in the basket on the front of the nice lady's motorized cart. Good thing she had a sense of humor. Note to self: I must bring some sort of basketball AND hoop where ever I go at ALL times.

One Years Old!
Who can believe that just a year ago we were coming home from the hospital with our very tiny little boy...I certainly cannot. The time has gone so fast and he seems so big now. He is walking, saying words like, "mama, dada, ball, and uh oh," throwing his ball and putting it in his brand new basketball hoop (thanks grandpa and nana!) He really is such a big boy. He brings so much joy and laughter to our lives it is hard to imagine what it was before he was here.
We had his party this past Saturday afternoon. Lots of our friends and their kids came and celebrated with us along with the grandparents and a set of great grandparents of course. O liver seemed to really enjoy himself. I am not sure how much of it he understood. He was just so excited by the amount of balls and balloons in the backyard he could have cared less about everything else! He ate some of his cupcake (thanks Christine:) for baking them) and Michael filmed so I will do my best to get that video up soon! Thanks to everyone for coming and to our family for all their help in putting it all together!
On another note I did take Oliver for his 12 month appointment on Tuesday. Everything is good. He weighs 18.7 lbs (giving more proof to what we already know- the kid is REALLY skinny) and is 29.5 inches tall.

Thanksgiving!
Yesterday morning we woke up early, of course, and ate a big breakfast as a family. Oliver played and then went down for his morning nap so we decided it would be a good time to get the Christmas tree out. I put a bunch of decorations on and by the time we were finished Oliver was waking up. This shots directly above are of him when he woke up. He went directly to the tree saying "ball, ball" which is the word that comes out of his mouth about 90% of the time and he proceeded take all of the ornaments within his reach off of the tree and pulled the Christmas tree skirt out. I guess our tree this year will be decorated starting from about two fee of the ground and up:)
We then went to Marsha and Bill's (Nana and Grandpa's) for Thanksgiving dinner. We got a chance to go out as a family on the golf course and had Steph snap some shots. Oh how nice to be able to have her "snap some shots" and have them look as ridiculously good as they do. Oliver is wearing his big boy sweater and jeans. I am not sure it gets any cuter than this! Thanks Steph for taking the pictures. We love you!

Oliver is on the Move
I realized the other day that I really haven't posted any videos of Oliver walking. About 3 or 4 weeks ago I took Oliver to the mall to play in the play area. Up until that point he had taken 5 or 6 steps on his own but just in between objects and was hesitant to do any more. But at the mall he decided it was time and took more like 10 or 15 steps all by himself. I was so excited I looked around expectantly to see if anyone else was as overjoyed as I was and then I remembered I was in the middle of the mall in the middle of a whole bunch of strangers who had no idea he just take 15 steps for the first time.
No one can prepare you for motherhood and the challenges and triumphs that come with it. And no one can prepare you for what it feels like to watch your child WALK for the FIRST time. You never thought anything could make you more proud!
Now Oliver walks around and goes wherever he wants. In this video he is exploring at Mima's house. Watching him walk cracks Michael and I up. He really looks like such a little man. Hope you enjoy watching him as we do!

Trunk or Treat
We went to an event that our church puts on called Trunk or Treat. Neighborhood kids come and trick or treat out of decorated trunks. It provides a safe alternative for kids on or around Halloween. Anyways I was glad this year to not be helping to plan and work the event and even more delighted to not be 7 and half months pregnant. Marsha did her trunk up in a Pirate theme and we all dressed to match. Even Margo! Oliver didn't seem to mind his costume however he wasn't so sure of his Dad in his.

So Many Talents
This video showcases all of Oliver's tricks! I play a game with him where I run in at him while he is standing in his crib and he thinks he is hilarious. You will then notice him pointing with his middle finger. That seems to be his finger of choice. And then at the end of the video he blows kisses. So cute!

Interesting Walker
Oliver decided the other day that he would push the piano bench all the way from the playroom into the living room using it as a walker. Anything to be independent!

Basketball
This video couldn't make Michael more proud. It is clear that Oliver's basketball skills are developing even at this young age!
