Wesley 2nd Birthday Party

There really wasn't much question about what to do for Wesley's Party- it was a no brainer. The theme would be trains and we would have it at the "choo choo" park. Of course, I didn't realize you should call and book a ramada four or five months before the party so when I called to see if there was availability about a month out I was expecting a resounding no. Thankfully, someonehad called and canceled for the Saturday I was looking for and we were in luck!

Overall, it was a great party. I little warmer then we would have liked, especially for me, but it all worked out! Here are a bunch of pics from the morning!

We decided that the grandparents and parents should go together and get Wesley one big thing versus a bunch of small stuff. So we decided on this John Deer Tractor. Although it's a little hard for Wesley to drive still Oliver has become a quick pro and Wesley is catching on. He just doesn't always remember to look where he is driving:)

The tractor was a big hit with everyone at the party. Luckily there wasn't too much fighting over who got to take a turn.

I made a bunch of water balloons knowing that Wesley would really like them and that it might help the kids to keep cool. I spent at least an hour and a half, maybe longer, filling about 200 balloons, which disappeared in about 5, maybe 8 minutes flat.

The ice was also a big hit with the little ones especially. I don't know what is so endearing about ice but it always seems to be an attraction. Wesley is obsessed with ice and has, unfortunately, learned to open the freezer and pull out ice whenever he wants. Yikes.

Getting Ready

So the countdown is on. This Friday I am officially 37 weeks and full term. I see the doctor tomorrow to find out if I am dialated at all. However, if there is one thing I have learned from my two labors - there is no predicting. Crosby is going to come when he feels like it. Of course, if wanted to come early I would be totally okay with that. I am feeling done with being pregnant. Ready to not have a huge belly to contend with while still having to keep up with my nearly 2 and 3 and a half year olds. In the mean time there is not lack of projects to do to get ready. With Mimi's help we converted Wesley's nursery into Crosby's so at least little man has a place to call home whenever he decided to make his appearance. Here are a few pics of his place.


Making room for Crosby meant moving Wesley out of his room (out of his crib) and into a big boy bed in Oliver's room. Well, it is now no longer just Oliver's room but Oliver's and Wesley's room. I was secretly dreading this move. I took Oliver at least 6 months to actually sleep on the bed consistently and not on the floor behind the door. So I really had no idea what to expect with Wesley. The first night we made the mistake of putting them to bed together, at the same time. They laughed and giggled at each other for about an hour and a half before Oliver fell asleep. And it took at least another thirty or forty minutes for Wesley to fall asleep. We aren't quite sure when he actually did close his eyes because Michael fell asleep waiting for him to finally call it a night. Somehow, miraculously, Welsey woke up in the middle of the night but seemed to understand he needed to stay in his bed. And so although he was up a few times and we had to settle him back the night went a lot better than expected. From then on we have put one or the other to sleep first which has gone very well. Here are a few pics of Wesley's side of the room. Surprise, surprise, it is a car theme. He especially loves his tires that spin and we often hear him playing with them before falls asleep.

P.E. Olympics

I volunteered last week for an event at Oliver's pre-school called, "P.E. Olympics." When I walked into his classroom one of his teachers said to me, "You're brave for volunteering. When I saw your name on the list, I thought, wow! I hope she knows what she is getting herself into." (while she says this she looks at my large belly.) I think to myself, well it can't be that difficult. Isn't is just some kids playing games? Well it is just some kids playing games...sort of. Okay actually it happens to be ALL the kids that go to pre-school in the morning (3,4, and 5 year olds) doing six or seven stations with all manor of balls, ropes, hoops, nets, tunnels, etc. and somehow rotating from these said stations without one of them getting lost in the extraordinarily large shuffle that is the gym. And, yes, I have been put in charge of Oliver and his two buddies (also boys). I am to make sure they make it through all the stations without losing one of them. You think, surely that can't be that difficult, it's only three boys. Well let me tell you, they are fast little things and I am 35 weeks pregnant. So it wasn't as simple as you might originally think. However, the good news is, I survived. I did not go into labor. I only lost one of them one time...don't worry he was quickly recovered. Here are the pictures:) And sorry about the poor quality...again I forgot the better camera.

They are supposed to be passing the ball to one another. "Supposed to be" is the key phrase here.

Mother's Day Tea

Last weekend was the Mother's Day Tea at Oliver's school. The music teacher had been working with the kids for a while on some songs dedicated to moms and the tea was their opportunity to showcase their hard work. We also got a chance to see some of the kids artwork which was displayed through out the classroom. To say that the little program was adorable is the understatement of a century. Seriously does it get any cuter than a bunch of 3,4, and 5 year olds singing, "Skin-na-ma-rink-i- do" to their mommas? I don't think so.
